OMG - we have been on a 150 year Cultural Experiment and Metabolic Change. The addiction to refined carbohydrates (Saccharides) has each individual's Epigenetics Affects changing Future Generations. For the first time humans are devolving and passing on bad genes. We are living De-Evolution.

Topic: Sugar - the White Death: What does this mean?

Mankind essentially has Infectious Diseases understood and controlled and continue to increase the understanding of microbial organisms. We now consider the Gut microbiome to be as important as the liver in supporting the human Supra-Organism. Humans are 1 million genes, of which 23,000 are human, working in the common cause of a healthy life ...

We're now starting to realize that Carbohydrate Sensitivity is at the core of virtually all diseases. This Sensitivity to Carbohydrates leads to a metabolic breakdown of our Metabolism and Tolerance of Carbohydrate. Our body's ability to assimilate Carbohydrates is Overwhelmed, and our Health, Longevity, and chance at becoming a Centenarian are in Jeopardy.

The British did work back in the 1950's on Sugar - the White Death and books on sugar and its detrimental effects on health were in the local health food stores. Mysteriously these books and references cannot be found. We read these books during the Hippy Movement and at Berkeley in the 1960's ... In addition, this was the start of the Health Food Movement and flat-breads, ie. pita sandwiches were popular ... aka Garbanzo Beans or Chickpeas even Falafel was introduced. We also invented The Brownie.

We are still dealing with the takeover of medicine by the chemical industry back in 1917. (Note 1,2) (1,2,3) The Chemical Industry, something Rockefeller (1,2) started in the 19th century. This same practice went on in Europe with I.G. Farben cartel - BASF, Bayer, et al. (5,6)

is the greatest mistake made by Governments. Governments are responsible to its citizens and without listening to experts grounded in science can make massive societal mistakes. The last 40 years of High Carbohydrate Recommendations is probably the biggest colossal mistake in history. Demonizing fats and promoting carbohydrates is explored by David Diamond, PhD - Dietary Sense and Nonsense in the War on Saturated Fat | July/2016..

Humans are on this Path? | We Love our Opioids

attach to receptors in the brain. Normally these opioids are the endogenous variety that are created naturally in the body. Once attached, they send signals to the brain of the "opioid effect" which blocks pain, slows breathing, and has a general calming and anti-depressing effect. The body cannot produce enough natural opioids to stop severe or chronic pain nor can it produce enough to cause an overdose. (Irony 1) (Note: 3)

Our brains are wired to ensure that we will repeat life-sustaining activities by associating those activities with pleasure or reward. Whenever this reward circuit is activated, the brain notes that something important is happening that needs to be remembered, and teaches us to do it again and again, without thinking about it. Because drug abuse stimulate the same circuit, we learn to abuse drugs in the same way we abuse Carbohydrates.

leads to Insulin Resistance on both paths. Metabolic Dysfunction, like type 2 diabetes is a practical result. It is fundamentally a disorder of insulin signaling - hence, we end up with Metabolic Syndrome - aka Insulin Resistance. It is triggered by the carbohydrate content of the diet. clearly produces the worst results, leading to Insulin Resistance (IR).

Dietary refined grains, starches, and sugars Dysregulation of insulin signaling Excess fat accumulation, obesity, and the obesity Epidemics, aka The Saccharine Disease, Conditions caused by the Taking of Refined Carbohydrates, such as Sugar and White Flour. [Cleave TL, et al., 1974] (14,15) What we observe is that everyone responds to Excess Refined Carbohydrates differently. Some people have a Tolerance, but most "Do Not", and we can see this by the rise in Type 2 and Type 3 (aka Diabetes of the Brains "Alzheimer's") diabetes, obesity, and chronic inflammation diseases.

Ok - Now What? | Take Charge of your Health

Using glucose, an inherently "dirty" fuel, as the body's main fuel, is a mistake. It generates far more reactive oxygen species (ROS) than fat and ketones. But in order to burn ketones, the cell must be healthy and normal. Cancer cells cannot burn fat, and this is the heart of successful cancer treatment, and why ketogenic diets appear to be so effective. They essentially starve the cancer, while nourishing healthy cells.

Modern Society created a nutritional disease; therefore, we need a nutritional solution. But, doctors are not trained in nutrition, medicine as we know it is in trouble, can we be better doctors than the AMA provides. We certainly can acquire the knowledge to ask better questions. The AMA has failed in their mission. Dr Noakes gives a good talk on the problem ... The Great Diet Controversy: UCT - Challenge Beliefs Dr. Tim Noakes | november/2013 (12) and Dr. Mercola & Dr. Greger on How Not To Die December/2015 (13)

Our biggest challenge is ourselves and our predilection to eating for flavor, palatability, and desires, neglecting what our bodies are telling us and really need. We are addicted to sugars, white flour, processed foods, smoking and drugs, and overcoming those addictions is the challenge. In the 1960, just after WWII, the first warning were being reported in the news about the Refined-Carbohydrate Disease.

Interestingly: In the 1930s, food scientists realized that refined grains were not providing enough nutrients. Consumers, particularly children, were developing symptoms of malnutrition. Thus, grain enrichment and fortification became standard. (14,15,16) References to The Saccharine Disease started in 1956: (Irony 2) (17)

Conclusion: the human animal was never intended to metabolize glucose/glycogen in large quantities, instead we metabolize and store fats. Insulin is a very weak hormone and just barely can regulate 100mg/dl in our blood. Fat-adaptation is the normal, preferred metabolic state of the human body. Sugar-dependency is an abnormal metabolic state that inevitably leads to insulin resistance and chronic disease. (18,18a)

We suffer from to much carbohydrates, hence, Carbohydrate Intolerance and Metabolic Corruption | contributor february/2017. Being able to mobilize and oxidize stored fat during exercise can reduce an athlete's reliance on glycogen. This is the classic "train low, race high" phenomenon, and it can improve performance, save the glycogen for the truly intense segments of a session, and burn more body fat. Ref: ... Irony Notes:

  1. When the hero Achilles was an infant, his sea-nymph mother dipped him into the river Styx to make him immortal. But since she held him by one heel, this spot did not touch the water and so remained mortal and vulnerable, and it was here that Achilles was eventually mortally wounded. Today, the tendon that stretches up the calf from the heel is called the Achilles tendon. But the term Achilles' heel isn't used in medicine; instead, it's only used with the general meaning "weak point"—for instance, to refer to a section of a country's borders that aren't militarily protected, or to a Jeopardy contestant's ignorance in the Sports category. Our week point is

    Hyper-Palatables Foods = Sugar = Cocaine = Dopamine

Addictive Path as described by Dr. Pamela Peeke. Her book The Hunger Fix, describes the body's built-in reward system, driven by the chemical dopamine. Science now shows that you may actually be addicted to certain “hyperpalatables” which are typically sugary/fatty/salty refined and processed food combinations. Whole foods are rarely to blame.
  2. Ironically, all that was needed was to stop processing grains. White flour and white sugar could be shipped and stored for month, thus improving shelf life. Nothing would eat it, as no nutritional value was left. Convenience can be a down fall with unwanted side effects, and not always the best solution. 1. Our own FDA (1) (Some are calling it Fraud and Death Administration) which is supposed to protect its citizens, is influenced by Big-Pharma and The Chemical Industry, something Rockefeller (1,2) started in the 19th century. In the early 20th century the U. S. Supreme Court found John D. Rockefeller guilty of corruption, illegal business practices and racketeering. (3) These institutions had become missionaries of a new breed of companies: the manufacturers of patented, synthetic drugs. This same practice went on in Europe with I.G. Farben cartel - BASF, Bayer, et al. (5,6)
  2. Longevity and the triage theory of nutrients The discovery of the vitamins was a major scientific achievement in our understanding of health and disease. In 1912, Casimir Funk originally coined the term “vitamines” from the Latin vitals (vitally important) and amines (organic derivatives of ammonia). The major period of discovery began in the early nineteenth century and ended at the mid-twentieth century. (20) The puzzle of each vitamin was solved through the work and contributions of epidemiologists, physicians, physiologists, and chemists. We all know the discover of the cure to Scurvy, and Vitamin C, also, beriber (B1), (21) rickets, pellagra (B3), and xerophthalmia as specific vitamin deficiencies. Many Nobel Prizes came out of the research on vitamins, there discovery, isolation, synthesis and structure. (22)
